Renaissance Resort at World
Golf Village is the perfect golf resort and more...much more!
Renaissance Resort
at World Golf Village, located within the beautifully landscaped
6,300-acre World Golf Village in St. Augustine. This unique golf
retreat enables you to play on two of the countrys finest
golf courses, indulge at a world-class spa, relax at an exclusive
oceanfront beach club, and explore the wonders of Americas
oldest city. The official resort of the World Golf Hall of Fame,
The Renaissance Resort is ideally located next to that impressive
facility, which celebrates golf, its greatest players, and its
history.
Among
the many offerings at The Renaissance Resort are two extraordinary
18-hole championship courses that were designed by the legends
of the game. King & Bear is the only course in the world
designed jointly by Arnold Palmer (The King) and
Jack The Bear Nicklaus. This picturesque 7,279-yard
course features loblolly pines and open meadows on the front
nine, impressive 200-year-old oak trees throughout the back nine,
and lakes edged with large coquina rocks.
Slammer
& Squire is named for legendary Hall of Famers Slammin
Sam Snead and Gene The Squire Sarazen. They partnered
with architect Bobby Weed to create this impressive par 72 tree-lined
course which features gentle rolling fairways and challenging
lakes. The 6,939-yard course is distinguished by memorable par
3s, and for its preservation of the woodlands, wetlands
and natural beauty of St. Augustine.
Both
courses feature chilled apples on the first and tenth holes,
complimentary range balls, and Global Positioning System (GPS)
in every cart.
In
addition to these exceptional courses, Renaissance guests enjoy
privileges at the PGA TOUR Golf Academy, which offers golf schools
and private lessons, state-of-the-art video analysis systems,
and expansive practice facilities, including a 2,700-square-foot
learning center with all-weather hitting bays. Inside the hotel,
Renaissance guests also can enjoy a professional golf simulator,
where you can play on simulated greens of 22 top-ranked courses.
Just
a chip shot from the resort, guests will find The World Golf
Hall of Fames 18-hole championship putting course, the
132-yard Island Challenge Hole, modeled after the celebrated
17th Hole of the Stadium Course at TPC at Sawgrass, an IMAX®
Theater, and the Walk of Champions with bricks commemorating
golf legends.
