We are extremely proud to announce
that world renowned golf course architect Rees Jones has joined
forces with Florida Golf Magazine to produce the upcoming Winter
2015 issue of Florida Golf Magazine (printed Jan. 2015) which
will be showcasing The Golf Course Architecture of Rees
Jones.
In a gracious effort to insure
the success of this upcoming Rees Jones issue and its related
cover stories Mr. Jones has very generously agreed to personally
write editorials in the form of design-strategy related
golf course reviews about a a very select few courses to
be showcased along with him in this special Rees Jones issue
of Florida Golf Magazine.
Nicknamed The Open Doctor,
Rees Jones has designed or re-designed more than 170 courses,
including hosts of seven U.S. Opens and PGA Championships, four
Ryder Cups, two Walker Cups and a Presidents Cup. Baltursol
(NJ), Bethpage Black (NY), Congressional (MD), Hazeltine (MN),
Pinehurst Nos. 2 and 7 (NC), Torrey Pines (CA) and Oakland Hills
(MI) are among the celebrated layouts.
Rees has designed 15 courses
in the Sunshine State so far; They are (in alphabetical
order) Burnt Pine Golf Club, Destin FL, Country Club of Winter
Haven which is his newest, (see page 16.), Creek Course At Hammock
Dunes, Palm Coast FL, Crystal Lake Country Club, Deerfield Beach
FL, Falcon's Fire Golf Club, Kissimmee FL, Golf Club of the Everglades,
Naples FL, Key West Golf Course, Key West FL, Laurel Oak Country
Club (West Course), Sarasota FL, LPGA International (Jones Course),
Daytona Beach FL, Naples Grande Golf Club, Naples FL, Ocala National
Golf Club, Ocala FL, Olde Florida Golf Club, Naples FL, RedStick
Golf Club, Vero Beach FL, The Breakers Rees Jones Course, West
